How to apply
For applications to be considered at the next Grants meeting, all forms and supporting evidence must be received by 31 October 2014
John Watson's Trust awards grants for educational purposes to children and young people under the age of 21 who have a physical or learning disability, or who are socially disadvantaged. Grants are available to individuals or organisations working with eligible children and young people. Although the Trust operates primarily within Edinburgh and the Lothians, grants may be awarded Scotland wide depending on each individual case. John Watson’s Trust is a charity registered in Scotland under charity number SC014004.
The Trust cannot accept requests for day school or university fees however, grants may be made for funding school expenses such as equipment, outings and tuition. School boarding fees may be covered however, this is usually in exceptional cases where personal circumstances make boarding a necessary option. Schools may apply for class trips if they feel several children would benefit.
There are four different application forms, depending on the purpose of your grant. Please read the explanatory notes before completing the application form, answer all the questions and enclose all supporting documents. Application forms without supporting evidence from referees will not be considered, and we recommend that repeat applications do not take place within the same year.
Completed applications should be emailed to Laura Campbell email@example.com or posted to the address on the form.
